Reading
Read, read and read again. Reading is a crucial skill that underpins learning.

You can help by:

-
Listening to your child read.
-
Try to help them ‘sound out’ the words using phonics skills – speak to the class teacher for more information on phonics).
-
-
Read to your child
-
Sharing a book is just valuable as them reading themselves. It is also a great way to bond with your child and spend some quality time together.
-
-
Visit the library
-
As well as using our school library, we strongly recommend getting books from the local library (Earlham Library Website). It's all completely free! A regular supply of new books really helps children stay motivated to read.
-
Homework
-
Reading
-
As above, read as much as you can. Even just a little bit each day will help massively.
-
-
Spelling
-
Teachers will send home spellings each week.
-
-
